Counselling & Psychotherapy

with Dr Jen Martin

Therapy offers a space where you can talk openly, feel heard and explore what matters to you. Together, we can be curious about your experiences, relationships and the world around you, noticing patterns and considering what feels helpful and what you might want to change. Starting therapy can feel like a big step. You might be feeling lost, overwhelmed or stuck, or simply want some space to understand yourself better. You don’t need to have everything worked out or know exactly what to say, we can start wherever you are.

Over time, you may feel better able to cope with challenges, express your needs and make choices that feel right for you. Change looks different for everyone, it might mean feeling more at ease with yourself, building more fulfilling relationships or discovering new ways to move forward. Therapy can help you understand yourself more deeply and make sense of feelings or patterns that have been difficult to untangle.

I run an integrative psychology practice offering remote therapy across the UK. In essence I use multiple models of therapy in order to best support you, tailored to each individual. At its core my work is relational, which means I focus on the therapeutic relationship, the relationships in your life and importantly the relationship with yourself. For those who are interested in particular therapeutic modalities, I draw from psychodynamic thinking, systemic, CBT, CFT and REBT, but I don’t believe in one size fits all. Instead, I shape the work around who you are, what you’re carrying, and what feels possible in the moment.

At the heart of my work is a warm, respectful and client-centred relationship. Together, we will shape therapy around your needs, strengths and goals, helping you develop greater understanding, self-compassion and a sense of possibility.
